Chris Allen Architects was established in 2003. The practice is based in Enniskillen and provides architectural services across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and is RIBA registered. Chris is registered with the Architects Registration Board, Royal Institute of British Architects and is also a Certified Passive House Consultant.
The practice works in a variety of sectors including private residential, housing, commercial, industrial, retail, education and ecclesiastical and has successfully completed projects ranging in value from £15,000 to £2,000,000. We aim to work closely with each client to deliver quality architecture and realise the vision and objectives of the project. Each project is unique and defined by the client’s requirements and the project context.
As a Certified Passive House consultancy, we can advise on sustainability issues, evaluate the environmental impact of a project and provide guidance on how to reduce the long term running costs of a building.
Since 2012, the practice has invested in building information modelling software and training allowing for cross discipline coordination and data rich drawn information. This also enables testing and visualisation of designs through three dimensional modelling.

ACCREDITATIONS
The Royal Institute of British Architects champions better buildings, communities and the environment through architecture and our members.
The RIBA website has lots of useful information on why you should consider using a qualified architect and also how to get the most out of working with your chosen architect.
The ARB was established by Parliament in 1997 to regulate the architects’ profession in the UK. It is an independent, public interest body and its work in regulating architects ensures that good standards within the profession are consistently maintained for the benefit of the public and architects alike.
You can check if a designer is a registered architect at the ARB website.
The Passive House Institute (PHI) is an independent research institute that has played an especially crucial role in the development of the Passive House concept - the only internationally recognised, performance-based energy standard in construction. Passive Houses require very little energy to achieve a comfortable temperature year round, making conventional heating and air conditioning systems obsolete.
Visit the PHI website for more information on Passive House Design.
